CHSS STEM SUSTAINABILITY FIELD TRIP

CHSSCS Foods 2, CTE Advanced Studies, and AP Bio students took their annual 2-day STEM and sustainability field trip on May 16-17, 2019.  Students started their trip by touring N.C. State College of Agriculture and Life Science where they learned about different types of plants and horticulture techniques.  They also learned about the undergraduate programs offered by NC State as well as admission requirements and policies.  Next, students visited Morgan Street Food Hall in downtown Raleigh to sample dishes prepared by NC chefs.

The following morning, students toured the Raleigh Dairy Heritage Museum where they learned about dairy food science.  Finally, students visited the NC State Farmers Market and the Got to Be NC Festival where they had a "Made in NC" culinary and cultural experience!

Thank you to Hatteras Island Youth Education Fund and Dare Education Foundation for funding our Made in NC STEM field trip to Raleigh, NC.
