Race Start Times:
Shore Break 5K Race – 8:00am
Tide Pool 1/2 Mile Fun Run – 9:00am
Run through Kinnakeet Shores on gorgeous Cape Hatteras, on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The race terrain will keep you entertained the entire 3.1 miles along paved roads winding through beautiful Kinnakeet Shores, wooden bridges, boardwalks, beach walkways, and a quick dash over the dunes to the finish.
The race culminates with an unbelievable view of the Atlantic Ocean and a post race party with pancake breakfast and Carolina Brewery beers for runners over 21 years of age.
Run, jog or walk, all are welcome! Come celebrate Cape Hatteras and give back to a great community! All proceeds from this event will go toward the Hatteras Island Youth Education Fund.
The 8th annual Shore Break 5K will be held at 8am and the Tide Pool Fun Run on the beach will immediately follow the 5K at 9am.

Shore Break 5K Fees:
Standard registration is $35; $25 for ages 17 and under (+$3.25 sign up fee).
Register early to avoid price increase! On May 5th the price will increase to $40 for adults and $30 for 17 and under.
Your race fee includes: swag bag, T-shirt, custom designed medal, age group winner prizes, and post-race OBX beach party with pancake breakfast and Carolina Brewery beer (for racers 21 and older)
Tide Pool Fun Run Fee:
$10 (+$2.25 sign up fee) for non-competitive run or walk, swag bag, finisher medals and post-race pancake party for the little runners too!
*T-shirt is not included in fun run registration fee but may be purchased at packet pickup depending on availability

On race day registration will be available on site from 6:30am-7:30am but there is no guarantee of a shirt (you can also register at packet pickup – see below).
This is a great race to run with friends and family–encourage them to sign up.
Packet Pick up will be held Sunday, May 26th from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at Kinnakeet Clay Studio and Showroom located in the Avon Village, 40462 North End Rd, Avon NC.
*If you are unable to pick up your packet during this time, you can pick it up during race day registration 6:30-7:30am on Monday May 27th.
Post Race Party:
Again this year we will have our famous pancakes and of course complementary micro beers from our awesome sponsor Carolina Brewery (of course only for our 21 and up runners)! All this while relaxing poolside on the ocean front in beautiful Spa Koru!
There will be limited race day parking on site. Registrants will need to park in the lots of local businesses in the surrounding areas. Parking signs will be designated.
5K participants will be chip timed by professional timing company Run The East.
Overall & Age Group Awards:
Kinnakeet Clay Studio & Showroom provides our unique and locally handmade race awards. The top three male and female runners will receive an award as well as the top three male and female finishers of each age group category.

Other Event Details:
Non-refundable charity event. Race is rain or shine but will be canceled for safety reasons in the event of severe weather. Water supplied at 5K halfway point and finish. Slower runners and walkers must start at the back of the corral. This is a circular course. Due to stairs and beach running, strollers and pets are not permitted.
Race Results: Results will be posted on site, at the beach party, and on the race website.
